The Garden

 

I come to the garden alone,

While the dew is still on the roses;

The Son of God discloses.

Within my heart is ringing.

 

IÕd stay in the garden with Him

His voice to me is calling.

What a Friend ...

 

What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often for-fet, O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer.

 

Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged,

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a Friend so faithful

Who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness,

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

 

Are we weak and heavy laden,

Cumbered with a load of care?

Precious Savior still our refuge -

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?

In His arms HeÕll take and shield thee,

Though wilt find a solace there.


Near the Cross

 

Jesus keep me near the cross, There a flowing fountain

Free to all a healing stream, Flows from CalvaryÕs Mountain.

 

Near the cross, a trembling soul, Love and mercy found me;

There the Bright and Morning Star Sheds its beams around me.

 

Near the cross O Lamb of God, Bring its scenes before me;

Help me walk from day to day, With its shadows oÕre me.

 

Near the cross IÕll watch and wait, Hoping, trusting ever,

ŌTill I reach the golden strand, Just beyond the river.

When Peace Like a River

 

When peace like a river attendeth my way,

When sorrows like sea billows roll,

Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
